Dilla Time listening accompaniments
Our first live Zoom event is with Dan Charnas and his New York Times Best Seller Dilla Time on Jan. 28. Get in the mood with Charnas’ Dilla Time Listening Guide as well as some other great Dilla DJ tributes and playlists now. We’ll have more Dilla-related listening to share in the week leading up to the event thanks to my producing partner Carly Eiseman and 1 Album A Day Art, her listening project that will be making a new home here at Music Book Club. If you have any suggestions for Dilla albums that you’d like to see her feature, feel free to leave them in the comments.

Music Book Club in the news
Lily Moayeri, who has the distinction of being Music Book Club’s very first official member, took a lot of time and care to tell the backstory of this project with a beautiful article in Book and Film Globe. I was very honest with her about how a bad publishing offer charged the battery in my back to self-publish my own music books with the help of a supportive reading community, and I hope that it inspires others to do the same.
If you’re a journalist or podcaster who would like to write or talk about Music Book Club, please let us know! We’d love your help in getting the word out. Social media mentions and telling friends about us are much appreciated, too!
A special thank you
We are delighted that everyone is here and jazzed on Music Book Club! A special thank you is due to our first Founding Members for their extra generous support of the project. Thank you for seeing the overall vision right away and getting as excited as we are!
I’m happy to promote your Feb 7th event in my next newsletter. Email a link and a promo sentence to Thea @ Thea wood.com 🎶
